CD Size Template to Give Away for Free

Here is the page I created using a lovely kit called Today I Am by Follow Your Bliss Designs

The reason I created the CD size template is because the pages I am creating are to be displayed each month in a CD case. Here is a photo of how it looks. You carefully remove the lid of the empty case and carefully turn in around and replace it. Someone at Scrapbook Bytes made the suggestion that you can just place the page in the CD case and close it up to use as a coaster and not as a frame like I do.

At long last I am going to share all the kits I created for the Design Factor Race I took part in.
I will list them from the first week to the last one. If you click on the preview of the kit it will lead you to the download.

I really enjoyed designing these kits but have no plans to design commercially. So if you like what I have created please leave a comment and keep an eye on this blog as I hope to eventually create more little kits for giving away.

If you asked me which of these kits was my favourite - that would be hard to answer. I enjoyed the luscious lips as I do like red but I would not say it is my favourite. Possibly my Blue Skies would be my pick as there is just something about the soft colours of the kit that I enjoyed.

We had to make a kit with a Food theme so I chose to use the nuts I had already photographed and extracted for one of my very first mini kits I ever designed.

Design Factor Race at Digi Scrap Connect - # 5

We only have one more week of the race to go. I have made it to the fifth one which surprised me as I did not think I would even get through the first week. I am enjoying all the learning about designing that I am experiencing. So after this race keep an eye out for more free kits as I will not be stopping and will continue designing kits to give away. I have started making a list of kits I would like to make. Some will be just wordart kits as I do enjoy creating wordart.
Anyway here is this week's kit which you can go HERE to download it. This challenge was to find out how good we are at recolouring. We had to use Commercial Use products and recolour them.

Designing Race at Digital Scrap Connect - week 1 - Summer Heat Mini Kit

I signed up to take part in a Designing Race and did not think I would get the Week 1 Assignment completed as we had to create our own papers and elements without just recolouring commercial use items.

I enjoyed the challenge and am pleased with how my mini kit turned out. I use a brush for the grass - it is on one paper and also a separate PNG file. The knotted string I extracted from a scanned piece of string.

DIGI-RIDOO'S 2ND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS IN JUNE

This week I received the exciting news that I was accepted on the Creative Team at Digi-ridoo Scraps. For this month I have been a guest on the team which I have been enjoying. The team for this store are a great team to work with so I was so pleased to have my application accepted. My digital scrapbooking style may not be as arty as the other new members of the team but I hope that what I create will inspire those that just like to scrap for the memory of the photos and the story those photos tell which is my main reason for doing scrapbooking.

This is a layout I have made for my CT work with Scrap-a-holic Designs and it the template for the papers from a set of templates called Paper Stacker Starters and was so easy to use and so much fun. Great way to get your page started without having to think of where to place the different layers.

I am enjoying my Guest Spot at Digi-ridoo Scraps this month and decided to make another card from a digi kit.

This is for my son-in-law ( did you already know that?) who is a surfer. The lovely kit I used is called Summer Daze by Studio 4 Designs and you can find it in the Digi-ridoo Scraps store HERE

Updating my Blog

Wow... I did not realise that I have not added anything here since March.
Lots have been happening so I thought it time I updated this blog.
Towards the end of last month I decided to become more involved at Digi-ridoo Scraps and this lead me to apply for two different digi jobs. The first one I was accepted for was for to be part of the Forum Team for a designer called "Truman Studio" so you will eventually see some pages using Aly's kits.
The second job I applied for was to be part of a CT for Scrap-a-holic Designs which is a designer who mostly designs templates so watch out for pages using Anna's templates.

On top of these two things I also won a guest spot on the CT for Digi-ridoo Scraps which has been a lot of fun. These will be the first pages I will share after this posting. The guest spot is only for May. I don't think I would have the time to be a permanent CT for the store as well as the other two jobs I have.

Free Mini Kit - Friends

I planned to take part in a Charity Kit called "Friendship" which will be a fund raiser for the Queensland Flood Appeal here in Australia, but I had finished all my designing and checked back to see where I had to send the link to the kit and discovered I was too late as they already had enough designers taking part.
So I thought I would give my little mini kit away and have renamed it "Friends". Once I find out where you can purchase the Charity Kit I will share that here. So if you want more items that will match this kit please check back at a later date.

Mary Did You Know

This month the Word challenge at Nuts 4 Digi is to share our favourite Christmas Carol/song. There are a lot that I enjoy but this one stands out. I have shared the first and last verse on this digital page. This song is special to me because of the time I acted the part of Mary at the Cross during Christmas the Full Story which used to be a yearly enactment of the life of Jesus Christ held by the combined Churches of my town leading up to Christmas. This song played in the background of the scene I acted in. Playing the part of Mary witnessing the death of her son and listening to the words of this song made me realise how much pain and confusion Mary would have felt.
I will share a Utube of the song.

Garden Layout and Free Word Art

This is a layout I put together for a Sketch Challenge at Nuts 4 Digi which is my favourite Digital Scrapbooking forum. This is also a page for a challenge I am taking part in called Project 52 where you do a layout about something that happens in your life each week of the year. This is for Week 40 and features my husband and the vegetable garden he has started. The potato plants are doing very well.

Spring - A FREE Digital Kit

This month over at Nuts 4 Digi , I am hosting the Art Challenge using a piece of art painted by my daughter, Ruth Hofer. I decided to Design a small kit to give away using the colours from the painting and as my daugher named the painting " Spring" I have also named my kit that name.

This is the largest Digital Scrapbooking kit I have yet designed. I like bright colours and I do like Rainbows ( the sign that shows God keeps His promises ).

This is a photo taken just minutes ago of the wheel of the car I drive as my husband is working on the brakes for this car. I just liked the way the bright light is shining from the corner and the rags and sawdust on the floor below.

This is a little mini kit I designed myself. The credits are in the Terms of Use which are included in the downloads.

There are two files to download. Part 2 is only the Text Path so if you prefer to only download Part 1 that is okay. Part 2 is a fairly large file. Instructions for how to use the Text Path for PSE and Photoshop are included in the file. I am unsure if it will work in other software.

This layout was put together using a mini kit I have designed myself.
We were given a challenge at Nuts 4 Digi for this month's Colour Challenge to use a swatch which consisted of three colours - pink, lilac and cream.
I decided to make my own little kit to use as I wanted to use these photos of my granddaughter taken on Christmas night 2009. I did not already have a kit which had bubbles in it. This was a fun little kit to design.

I will share the mini kit in my next post.

I had fun creating this kit as I actually painted the dark rose myself on the computer with software called "Artrage". It was so much fun that now I want to get myself a graphics tablet so I can maybe do even better artwork on the computer.
The papers were also painted using Artrage ( except maybe the plain apricot piece).

What a surprise today to discover I have once again had a layout featured at Faith Sisters.
Because the artists there are so very talented I thought this would never happen to me so I am thrilled.
This was a special layou to do as it is about my elderly mother.

The kits used are both called "Loving Well" - one by Kreative Karma and the other by Lifesong Creations

This was such a fun layout to put together.
The poem was written by me. The layout was for a challenge at Colorline Designs and was for their Art Challenge. We were to look for inspiration from the Fairy paintings by Cicely Mary Baker and most of her fairies has poems with them which is why I decided to write my own poem.

This was a photo I had for a long time wanted to do something with. My brother did not have a digital camera and did not know until it was developed that the photo looked like this. Most people seeing the photo said how Ruth looked like a fairy. So I turned her into a fairy by adding the wings and the setting.
The main background paper is from RaspberryRoad Designs. Most of the other items are from a kit called Fashion Fairy by Ikscrap

My Banner is Made

Today I have uploaded the banner I made using a digital template created by Erica Hite of Scrap Girls. And used with permission the lovely flower and the red and purple papers are from digital designer - Donna Duncombe Designs. You will find Donna's designs for sale at one of my favourite stores - Nuts 4 Digi ( the website is at the bottom of this blog). Nuts 4 Digi was the first digital scrapbooking forum I joined on the 20th February 2008. This month was my first birthday of doing digi. Nuts 4 Digi has become like a home to me. The members are all friendly, the owner is great and there are some great challenges for inspiration.
This Friday night I am hosting the chat and then next month I am hosting a Speed Scrap which should be fun.

Soon I will start sharing some layouts and some of my own designing.

Now to have a look at what this all looks like.

Today is 20th January 2009 and at long last I am making a start to a blog for sharing my digital scrapbooking.
I have template to create my own header which I will get around to doing one day soon.
This is fairly new to me as the other two blogs I have I did not do much on those but this one I want to set up properly and have links to my favourite designers and stores etc.

I share my layouts on quite a few forum galleries and will possibly share which ones.
Today I had an exciting happening as one of my recent layouts was chosen for "Made You Look Mondays" on the Faith Sisters Blog. I did not think I would be ever good enough for that as those scrappers are all so very talented. I will share this and another one chosen two weeks ago once I get this blog set up properly.
