For this month I decided to work with Luke who was a physician and traveled with Paul on his missionary journeys. Luke gleaned most of his information for his gospel from the Apostle Peter.
The gospel of Luke highlights Jesus's ministry to the poor, outcasts and women, demonstrating God's love for all people. Luke also emphasizes the importance of prayer and trusting in God's provision, as seen in Jesus's teachings and actions throughout the gospel.
Luke's gospel is known for its stories of Jesus interacting with those on the fringes of society, such as the woman who anointed his feet ( Luke 7:36-50) and the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). These stories demonstrate that Jesus came to save all people, regardless of their social status or past actions.
I have included hearts in my kit because Luke's gospel emphasizes that God is concerned with the heart and that true transformation begins within ( Luke 6:43-45).
( my devotional thoughts are found at different web sites I find on the internet with sometimes my own wording added.)
I hope you all enjoy my green ( and black themed kit). The scripture I chose to use comes from Peter's first speech to the peoples.
